About the Image

December in Yosemite National Park can be very cold, and this day felt arctic. After a long walk up Tenaya Creek past Mirror Lake, I had an intuition about the view just beyond some bushes next to the trail. This is that view. I quickly set up my tripod at the edge of a marshy zone and captured the sun's warm light on a very cold place.

The image has a 3:1 aspect ratio. A border is provided to make framing easier. The width of the border is 3/8 inch per edge on a 12 inch tall print.

Great care was put into building this image exclusively for printing purposes. The image was stitched together using 4000ppi scans, resulting in a superior quality original image comprised of over 30 million pixels.

DPC Prints, the print vendor who fulfills your order, uses a Poli LaserLab to print on Fuji Crystal Archive Paper. This paper has been tested to last without fading for over 50 years. These prints are indistinguishable from regular silver-based photo prints.
